Mahammad Baba Babanly is an Azerbaijanian chemist, correspondent member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS, 2014). Deputy Director of Research at the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS, Deputy Chairman of the Dissertation Council at the Institute and also Head of the Department of Inorganic Functional Materials. Mahammad was born in 1952. In 1973, he graduated with honors from the Baku State University. He became a Candidate of Science (1977), Doctor of Science (1988, Moscow State University), professor (1990, Baku State University).
He is the author of 700 scientific publications, including papers in Nature, 2 monographs, 11 textbooks and manuals, 5 patents. He trained more than 30 Candidates of Sciences, 1 Doctor of Science.
